When I care more than you...

It really makes me sad to go the extra mile.

a man called...

...someone over me to complain about my behavior.  He said I was rude and unhelpful.  And that I gave him attitude and refused to treat him decently.  When he outright asked if I was going to sell him the product he was inquiring about, it was met with a harsh negative answer and the phone was slammed down in his face.  Now, he has this idea about me, which isn't true because there is no way I would have treated a customer in such a manner.  He must have dialed the wrong number because it wasn't me he spoke to.

Rinse. Reuse. Recycle. Repeat.

The older I get, the more I worry about the world.  I figured now is a good time as any to try to prevent my further contribution to things I see plaguing us these days.  Waste. Pollution. Oblivion.  I've been told often that by recycling even one can, I'm not going to make a difference.  That is exactly what's wrong with people these days.  They figure... what's the use?  I don't intend to adopt that mindset.  I think all it takes is one person to change things.  If you can think it, there's bound a way to do it.  A few months back, our local waste management company started a recycling program.  They provided the bin and a few pointers on what's acceptable for recycling and all we have to do is participate.  I began with things I was personally using and realized that we waste so much paper at work, why not bring that home as well?  Thus began random placement of boxes around the office.  I still haven't gotten everyone to participate but the majority does. i wanna run away, never say goodbye

The people I work with are really great.  I just ran into David's office, tapped him on the shoulder and said "You're it!" and ran out.  A few minutes later, I hear someone running down the hall and in comes David tapping me back with the reply "You're it!".  Fun stuff. Yep.

Funny the way...

I'm told to just handle certain things, check first with others, given instructions to follow then later told those instructions were wrong, asked to remember deadlines and send reminders, no, stop reminding... go this way, go that way, answer the phone, order the paper, call the customer, place the order, make the coffee, hurry and take your break, skip your break... don't you know your job yet?

Write something, anything... but it better be good!

What if I told you, Mr.Boss, to write about lipsticks or neuroscientific research or some other bullshit topic that you have no clue about in a simple yet intuitive manner? Would you be able to do it, just like that?

I have a funny feeling that it won't come out great. But you always have this "I don't know how to write stuff anyway..." excuse behind what you can hide yourself and constantly do. It's easier to criticize than to try to explain your intentions and ideas in a  more clear manner.

Ugh. No wonder I've got writer's block. Every time I write for you I feel like I'm wasting time, because you suck every bit of the sparkly attitude and life out of what I'm writing. Sure, why try to be funny and cheerful if we can be boring and formal.

I don't get...

...how some people are not being held accountable for their time or actions, or lack thereof, while other people can't seem to catch a break or get appreciation for a job well done.

What have I traded myself into?

Oh joy,  I can still remember the times when life was so much easier, when the grass was greener on my side of the corner and the sun was shining all the time. Khmm, yeah right. Let's be honest with myself here, miss Wannabe Marketer, you hated being a CS Agent, you almost had it at CS Training Specialist and you definitely didn't feel that much comfortable at being a Training Coordinator... and now this mess?

Who knew, that becoming a Marketer, when you have absolutely no idea how to do marketing (or even what is was) could be so rewarding... NOT!

I mean, at least before I had a lengthy title and shitloads of things I was constantly doing that I could boast about. Now what? Once you open your mouth to introduce yourself as a Marketer you get shit flying in from left and right... and that horrible whiny face. The "Oh, you're a marketer..." face.

It's not that I care too much about what they think, but somehow being a marketer leaves a taste of shit in everyone's mouth. Makes me wonder if something's wrong with the job when in fact nothing's wrong with it. It's just the imaginary perception  that people have that makes it look so bad. They think you're instantly trying to sell them something or they'll try to test you into selling something... or they instantly assume that you're awesome at it and should be doing better. Guess what, I'm here to learn and a great marketer is never ready. With papers or without. I go with my gut feeling, that's the best that I can do, OK?

Let's make a deal... the next time I tell you that I'm a Marketer, you'll pretend that you heard that I'm the next Super Badass Director of the most awesome startup company! Yeah, that makes you smile, doesn't it?

Well, ever understood what the hell those directors do? Just a pile of daily bullshit, delegation and poker face, pretense that they've got the most important job in the world. Never mind that the rest of the people do the work. Good luck with that... but hey, if it sounds so nice, it must be nice as well, right?

Blue

I suck. I deleted all of the content of this blog years ago in a fit of rage without making sure it wouldn't offend the people who took the time to contribute their writing. I am thinking of restarting it and if anyone would like to come back, let me know. :)

Edit: Used the Wayback Machine to find some of the old content and re-posted. I'm so sorry guys. I can't believe I removed it all in the first place.
